New design informed by the historical concept / Independent 2026 identity and application proposals
01 / BEGINNING WITH STRUCTURE

The historical idea centres on an open geometric symbol: two balanced sides and a separate horizontal bar. This interpretation refines strokes, openings and spacing, giving symbol and serif wordmark room before extending the same structure into a pattern.

  • New geometric symbol and wordmark
  • Palette and repeating pattern
  • Folio cover and eight-page visual guide
02 / GEOMETRY AND SPACE

Clear structure. Quiet character.

Three paths preserve the historical relationship, with consistent openings and line weight. Charcoal and limestone lead, while taupe and brass provide further material and tonal possibilities.

03 / FROM SYMBOL TO PATTERN

Rhythm through repetition.

Alternating rotations turn the same geometric symbol into a regular repeat. The pattern serves as a supporting field, leaving the standalone mark a clear primary role.

04 / MATERIAL ON PAPER

Let materials carry the detail.

Warm ivory supports the geometric symbol, with brass foil and a charcoal wordmark creating a restrained hierarchy. An overhead view brings the complete cover, paper grain and subtle sheen into focus.

3:4 FOLIO COVER

Symbol and name. Space for each.

Symbol, name and fine rule align on one axis. Open space gives a few elements clear hierarchy and leaves room to explore paper and print treatments.

05 / EIGHT-PAGE VISUAL GUIDE

Make the design clear to use.

From clear space, colour and typography to pattern and cover applications, a concise guide records the new design’s principles. Cover and clear-space pages are shown here; all eight pages are available to download.

Independent 2026 redesign proposal; not a historical client manual.

THEA

Page 21 of the 2018 DOD logo.pdf portfolio repeats THEA in several treatments; the header also reads THEA MALTHY and the script descriptor appears to contain a spelling error. This proposal uses the verified THEA name. Full official naming, business scope and historical adoption remain unconfirmed. The panel is an embedded raster image; no independently attributable original vectors have been located. The 2026 symbol is a new interpretation with revised geometry, wordmark, colours and pattern, not recovered original vectors. Cover, theme and eight-page visual guide are independent proposals, not evidence of client adoption. The guide documents concise rules for the new design, not a historical manual. The AI-generated folio is a material concept with approximate format and print-placement differences; flat artwork governs accurate design, and paper/foil need physical proofs. Historical interior and business photos, storefront mockup and gold-pattern material image are not reused.
