A studio should know how to name itself. What follows is our record of that exercise — the mark, the letters, the colors, the rules. Hold us to it.

FounderA studio built to last.
Day of Design is a Toronto studio, founded in 2017.
We deploy AI into real businesses, on brands we build to last — one senior team, one subscription. Fewer people, better systems, work that holds up. 350+ brands served.
Toronto design studio. Since 2017.
Planet and ring.
A planet sits above its ring. The silhouette spells the studio's initials — D · O · D — and carries three ideas: a body, a system around it, and the passing of time.
The mark lives on two grounds. Dark theme — electric royal blue on ink black. Light theme — heritage yellow on paper white. Monochrome variants carry the mark where colour must yield: print, single-ink uses, partner surfaces. Never invent a fifth pairing.
Mark sits left of the wordmark with a fixed gap equal to the ring width. Vertical stack is reserved for square social avatars. Never separate the pair within a line of body copy.
Proportioned 392:256. One stroke weight throughout. Inside and outside margins equal.
- 01
D — the body. One finished piece of work.
- 02
O — the orbit. The system around the work.
- 03
D — the aperture. The room we leave for time.
Leave at least one D-height of space around the mark on all sides. No element may enter that zone.
Digital: 16 px height. Print: 4 mm height. Below that, use the simplified circular favicon variant.
- 01Do not stretch.
- 02Do not recolor.
- 03Do not apply shadow, glow, or stroke.
- 04Do not pair with non-brand ornament.
Serif and sans.
A good day for making a few things that matter.

Two palettes, one logic.
We live on two surfaces. Dark theme — cool ink black, with electric royal blue as the action colour. Light theme flips polarity — paper white with heritage yellow. Type, mark, and rules stay constant across both. Only the ground and the accent move.
Royal Blue
Dark theme · primary action. A 0033FF → 0600AB gradient — the only place the brand allows a colour transition.
Ink Black
Dark theme · the ground. Tinted a whisper toward blue so the accent never reads pasted-in.
Bone
Dark theme · the type. AAA on ink black; muted siblings (#A4A9BA, #8A90A6) handle body and labels.
Heritage Yellow
Light theme · primary action. Carried since the 2017 mark — the brand's only constant pigment.
Paper White
Light theme · the ground. Neutral white with a vanishing warm hint — never cream.
Navy Ink
Light theme · the type. Cool navy, the paper-ink register; muted siblings (#4A506A, #636880) handle body and labels.
How we write.
Short over long.
If one sentence can carry it, don't write two. Delete the words you don't need.
Concrete over abstract.
Say what we did first. Say what we believe second. Nouns before adjectives.
Plain over clever.
No jargon. No evasions on price, timeline, or scope.
Quiet over loud.
No slogans. No exclamation points. Confidence sounds calm.
Six places the mark lives.
