In July 2023 Yingke Law Firm opened an office in Toronto, and its first print had to speak to two readers at once: Chinese clients who already knew the Yingke name, and local clients meeting it for the first time. We kept Yingke’s gold emblem and fitted the firm’s story, its services and its contact details onto a single sheet, then scaled it up into roll-up banners for events. English and Chinese run side by side, so each reader finds their own language first.

  • Roll-up banners, four versions

01Mark & colour

Yingke’s gold,
kept exact.

A Y that divides a circle into three: the Yingke emblem, with the Toronto office’s bilingual name beside it. We used both exactly as supplied, original vectors and original gold. What we set was the ground beneath them: black and gold for the two editions of the flyer, and a pale mist for the top of every piece.

02The flyer

One sheet,
two grounds.

Letter size, in two halves: the name, the line and a main image on top; below, the firm in English and Chinese, four practice areas and the contact details. The black edition is formal, the gold one warmer — one text for two settings. In early 2024 the services were revised to match the firm’s new practice groups; that update is shown here. In re-setting it we took out the world map and gavel behind the text and set the gold edition in dark ink; the original main image, a stock photograph of Lady Justice, is not used here, and the Yingke emblem holds its place.

03Roll-up banners

Two metres tall,
read from across the room.

The sheet becomes an 85 × 200 cm banner, read top to bottom: the name and line at eye level, the main image beneath, the firm and its services where you only read them up close. The four practice areas sit in two columns, each with one icon and one name. The banners date from 2023 and carry the practice areas the office opened with. There were four versions; the black and gold ones are re-set here.

04Practice areas

A few months in,
the services were redrawn.

The office opened with real estate, corporate and commercial, family and matrimonial, and litigation. The 2024 update became corporate affairs, civil litigation, US and Canadian tax, and real estate and wealth management. The layout stayed; only the contents changed — the four-box grid was made for exactly that.

Flyer, black and gold editions · Flyer update, 2024 · Roll-up banners, four versions

The round emblem belongs to Yingke Law Firm; the bilingual lockup is the original vector file. The original designs used a stock photograph of Lady Justice as their main image; it is not shown here, and the re-sets put the Yingke emblem in its place. Only the Affinity source files and small previews survive, so the flyer and banners on this page are re-set in HTML from their original copy and layout: the world map and gavel backdrop are left out, the gold edition sets its text in dark ink so it can be read, and phone, email, address and QR code are shown as grey bars. Two pale-pink banner versions, built on the firm’s own office photographs and figures, are not shown. The practice areas are those printed on the 2024 flyer update, not a statement of the firm’s current services.
