Winfield Tech is a Toronto platform that connects Chinese and Canadian industry: cultural parks, a building-materials supply chain, real-estate investment and a technology incubator, with financing, market access and listing services alongside. In 2023 the client brought us bilingual copy and a folder of winery photographs, and asked for a website that read well in both languages and let each business look like itself.

01The homepage

Three words,
one sound.

The client’s copy opens on three characters that are all read yíng: to win, to fill, to welcome. The middle one is the 盈 of the company’s own name. The homepage stands them up first, each with a line of classical Chinese, before any business is mentioned; the English site keeps the characters and glosses them.

yíngWin

爱拼才会赢,共创、共建、共赢。No pain, no win: co-create, co-build, co-win.

yíngFill

山不让尘,川不辞盈。Mountains refuse no dust; rivers refuse no water.

yíngWelcome

海内存知己,天涯若比邻。A friend across the sea is a neighbour.

02The businesses

Four businesses,
four ways to read them.

After the first draft the client was blunt: the sections all looked the same, “like an Excel sheet”. The four businesses are different in kind — a cultural park is a place, a supply chain is a sequence, real estate is a map, an incubator is a set of stages — so each section takes the shape of its content.

01 · A place

Cultural & creative parks

Cultural tourism and commercial property brought together on one site. The section opens on a project’s photograph.

02 · A sequence

Building-materials supply chain

From developer to fit-out, laid out as one chain.

  1. Real-estate developers
  2. Construction contractors
  3. Materials manufacturers
  4. Materials distributors
  5. Decoration companies

03 · A map

Real-estate investment

The Greater Toronto Area and the economies within a two-hour drive.

  • Waterloo滑铁卢
  • Hamilton汉密尔顿
  • London伦敦
  • Niagara Falls尼亚加拉瀑布
04 · A set of stages

Technology incubator

What a company can draw on at each stage, from seed funding to facilities.

03The project page

From the platform
into a vineyard.

The cultural-park section leads with one project: Alvento Winery in Niagara. The client supplied a full set of the estate’s photographs for the site — vineyard, courtyard, cellar, the turn of the seasons — so the project page opens on a picture, with only a few lines on where it is and what it does.

Bilingual website design · Information architecture · Business section layouts · Project page

The website was designed in 2023. The homepage and project page shown here are re-set in 2026 from the site’s structure and the client’s bilingual copy; they are not screenshots of the live site. The Winfield Tech mark was supplied by the client and is not the studio’s design. The winery photographs were supplied by the client for the site and belong to Alvento Winery; the studio had no part in the winery’s branding or interiors. Business content comes from the 2023 copy and does not describe the client’s current operations.
