VOVEX is a Toronto golf brand that makes laser rangefinders — small, leather-wrapped instruments that read the distance to the flag. The name draws on the Latin for venture; the X stands for exploration. In 2023 we built the brand from the mark up: a square monogram with a heart in it, a rabbit for the course, packaging for balls and gloves, a product guide and a manual, and the posters and posts that launched the Bloom and Elegant series.

01The mark

Five letters in a square,
and a heart for the O.

The monogram stacks the name into a square: V and a heart on top, an upturned V and a stemless E below — and the two Vs, point to point, make the X. Beside it, VOVEX is drawn in the same straight strokes, with RANGEFINDER set narrow underneath. Black and white carry everything; the colour is left to the heart — champagne by default, with red and green versions in the guide.

02Secondary mark

A rabbit
in shutter shades.

Caps, gloves and ball boxes needed a lighter voice than the monogram. The rabbit — one ear up, one folded, slatted sunglasses — comes in black, in champagne and in the lilac-to-sky gradient of the ball sleeves, and is simple enough to embroider on a cap or a glove marker.

03Packaging

Three balls,
one sleeve.

The V2-LD and ControlMax sleeves share one structure: three round windows down the front, the rabbit at the centre, the monogram on both end flaps, the model name running up the side. Inside, 129 × 43 × 43 mm for three balls. A lilac-to-sky gradient gives the balls a line of their own.

04Guide & launch

Two bodies,
one voice.

Bloom wears tan leather over gunmetal; Elegant is one smooth white shell. The fifteen-page product guide gives each a page of its own — Bloom on black, Elegant on pale grey. The launch stories and posts carried the same restraint into feeds: one device, one word, plenty of room.

05The manual

A manual you can read
on the tee.

The Bloom Series 1 manual fits English, French, Spanish and Chinese into one small booklet. Line drawings do the explaining — the buttons, the screen, how slope changes a shot — so the words can stay short. The cover is re-set here: in print the gold RANGEFINDER sat on top of GOLF; now it has a line of its own.
