Veltro Development’s whole identity is one drawing: a V and a D that share the diagonal between them. It first appears in the studio’s 2018 logo book and again in a 2023 colour file. Nothing else from the project survives — no stationery, no signage — so this page shows the logo, and how it is built.

01The monogram
Four pieces,
two letters.
Extend the outer edges of the V and they meet exactly on the baseline. The V’s right stroke runs straight through the place where the D’s stem should be: it slices that stem down to a short wedge (3) and cuts the V’s own left stroke short (1), leaving a narrow gap each time. The D’s bowl is cut from two circles on one centre. Up close, four shapes; from across the room, two letters.

02The wordmark
A line of Didone,
held between two rules.
Against a monogram of geometric cuts, the name is set in a high-contrast Didone: bold capitals with hairline serifs, tracked to exactly the width of the mark, with a fine rule above and below. Hard and soft, like the title block on a drawing.
03Colour and versions
Green on black,
black on paper.
The 2023 file prints the monogram in a bright green with the name in white, on solid black. In one colour the whole logo goes black, or white on a dark ground. The green lives only on black; on a light ground it goes weak, and the logo turns black instead.

One page,
two directions.
In the studio’s 2018 logo book Veltro appears twice. One drawing hides a rotated D inside a V, its construction lines still on the page; the other is the split VD, its wordmark then set with large initials. The 2023 colour file carries the second forward.
