Sweet Pea is a 2023 studio design study for an imagined shop of sculpture candles, made without a client. Everything sits inside one round seal: the name arched in high-contrast serif capitals, a single flowering stem in a fine pen line, and what the shop makes running around the foot. The designer set it in two voices and with two descriptors; all three versions are here.

01The seal
Five parts,
one circle.
Read it from the top: the name in high-contrast serif capitals, set on an arc; a solid dot at either end of it; two short brackets that hold the drawing without closing the circle; the flowering stem, the only drawing; and the descriptor in condensed capitals, tracked wide along the lower arc. The open sides keep it from looking like a stamp pressed too hard.

02Type
Two voices
for one name.
The study set the seal twice. One version uses the high-contrast serif with solid dots — formal, a little ceremonial, like the tag on a gift. The other uses a light, round sans with hollow dots, wider spacing and a larger circle — quieter, more modern. The flower and the condensed descriptor are the same in both.
03Descriptor
Sculpture candles,
or candles and bodycare.
A third version keeps the serif seal and changes what it says: CANDLES AND BODYCARE, for a shop that sells more than candles. The longer line runs further round the lower arc, almost to the brackets. The study’s own boards used this version — on white, on a blush card, and reversed out of dark photographs.
