SunCity is a 2023 studio design study for an imagined travel agency, made without a client. The mark spells the name itself — S, U, N — and the last stroke of the N keeps climbing until it becomes an arrow. Around it the designer built a heavy, wide black wordmark, a palette of two yellows, and a set of web and social layouts.

01The mark
Three letters,
one lean.
The U and the N share a stem, and the N’s last stroke never stops: it rises past the top of the letters and becomes the arrow. Every upright leans the same ten degrees, so three letters read as one movement — down, across and up.
- S · U · NThe name is the mark
- 10°One lean for every upright
- 1Stem shared by the U and N
02Colour
Two yellows,
and nothing else.
The mark is a single sun yellow. Where a stroke folds behind another — the top of the S, the diagonal of the N, the foot of the arrow — it darkens to amber, the only shading in the mark. The wordmark is plain black: heavy, geometric, tracked wide. The web screens add a family of deep teals, a night sky for the sun to rise in.

in one screen.
Six landing screens tried the identity at web scale: a split layout for a ‘new world’, a dark panel with the full lockup and one big line, a single search field over a landscape. The originals sat on stock photography; here they are re-set as drawn, with colour standing in for the photographs and the placeholder copy left out.

04Social
Square for Instagram,
tall for Xiaohongshu.
Twelve posts in two formats — 1:1 for Instagram and WeChat, 3:4 for Xiaohongshu — all built the same way: the lockup centred, the place behind it, sometimes a quiet “Book now” beneath. Here each place is reduced to its colours: coast, a city at dusk, a fjord, temple stone, a street at night.
Wherever it goes,
the arrow points up.
