Signature Auto Service is a car-service business whose logo sits in our 2018 logo sampler. The idea is direct: a name plate, like the ones screwed to a garage wall or a workbench, with two crossed spanners behind the name. That sampler page is the only record we kept, so in 2026 we rebuilt the mark from it as clean vector.

Five parts,
one plate.
Everything sits inside the plate. The spanners give the trade away before the name is read; the name is heavy enough to hold its own against them; and the line beneath says plainly what the business does.
- Four fixing pointsScrew holes drawn as rings: a plate first, a logo second.
- A double keylineAn inner rule follows the edge, like the raised rim of a stamped plate.
- Two crossed spannersOpen-ended spanners crossed as an X. The handles pass behind the name, so only the four heads show.
- SIGNATUREA heavy condensed sans, set tight and just wide enough to span the cross.
- AUTO SERVICEA small roman serif says what the business does, centred at the foot.

Rebuilt from
a single page.
No standalone logo file survived — only page two of the October 2018 sampler, where the mark sits in grey among eleven others. Inside that PDF the spanners and both words were still vector outlines, so we lifted them as they were. The plate itself was a soft bitmap; we redrew its edge, keyline and fixing points at the measured positions.
03Versions
One plate,
three ways to print it.
With the file rebuilt, the mark can finally be handed over properly: the sampler’s grey; solid black for one-colour jobs such as stamps and cut vinyl; and a line version for dark grounds. The row below tests size: AUTO SERVICE reads comfortably at 240 pixels wide and is at its limit at 140; smaller than that, the plate and the name carry the mark.
