RichStream Capital Management is a capital management firm. In the summer of 2022 it needed a mark. Our first round started from the “stream” in the name; the second changed course to a red lion in mid-stride, stepping through a thin gold frame. In 2023 we turned it into a full set of files, with three business-card layouts to go with it.

01The symbol
The frame holds the body.
The head walks out.
The first round tried blue waves and RS monograms — all about the “stream”, and all a little like every other finance logo. The second changed register: a lion mid-stride and roaring, with a thin gold frame behind it. The frame is the discipline, the lion the drive; its head, forepaw and tail all cross the line, so it reads as moving forward rather than held in.

02Lockups & colour
Stacked or in a line.
Red, or reversed.
The 2023 files carry two lockups: stacked for covers and signs, horizontal for letterheads and screens. “RichStream” is set in a bookish serif, with CAPITAL MANAGEMENT spaced out in a geometric sans beneath. Reversed, the lion becomes white line on black and the gold frame goes white with it — each lockup comes in both.

03Business cards
Three cards,
three tempers.
Three card layouts went with the final files. One is quiet: the stacked mark in the corner, a hairline between the name and the details. One is centred, name and details on either side of a rule. One is bold: the lion’s head enlarged until it bleeds off the edge. Every back carries the mark alone.
