JoyMoon Media is the marketing arm of JoyMoon Tech Ltd. It makes graphic, video and UI design for its parent company, and sells advertising on the cutlery wraps that Chinese restaurants send out with takeaway. In 2021 we designed its four-page bilingual service leaflet: who they are, what they sell, and why it is worth buying.

01The mark
An orbit,
and a star.
JoyMoon’s mark came to us as the client’s file: an orbit holding a four-point star, beside a heavy italic wordmark. We left it as it was and built one lockup for the leaflet: the m turned amber, two fading arches rising behind it, and the department’s name, MARKETING, set underneath.

02The cover
One line,
one name.
The 2021 cover was a photograph of a chalkboard scattered with clip-art icons. The re-set keeps two things: the lockup, and the client’s own line — Reach every corner. Meet everyone.
Black ground, white type, one amber m. The leaflet speaks in the colours of the wrap that turns up in the takeaway bag.
03Inside
Who on the left,
what on the right.
Open the leaflet: the left page introduces JoyMoon Media and its four services; the right page says one thing — your ad, printed on a 24 × 6 cm wrap, sent out with takeaway. The wrap, the chopsticks and the spork are drawn to the same scale, so a reader sees at once how big the ad is.

04Value
Say what it does,
promise nothing more.
The last page makes two points: a brand sticks after it has been seen again and again, and conversion varies by industry, region and season. The reach figures in the draft copy stay out of the re-set; the footnote the 2021 leaflet carried stays in.
“All descriptions are advice based on our experience, not promises of return.”
Four pages,
two languages.
