Amy 四宝妈 helps Chinese-Canadian families in Toronto plan cemetery and funeral arrangements — something every family faces and few want to raise first. We built her an AI short-video workflow: topics and scripts, a cloned voice and a digital presenter, AI-generated story scenes and keyword captions, all assembled in code with Remotion into vertical episodes.

01The pilot
Open like a film,
not like a sales call.
The pilot, “When that call came”, used footage Amy recorded herself, cut with AI-generated story scenes: a hospital corridor, a mother at the window, a woodland path. Captions were set like film subtitles, a fine serif beside a single champagne rule, with the series line in the corner: “Some things are better said early.”

02The format
Clear with
the sound off.
After the pilot, the series moved to a format built for the feed: the episode’s question top left, two or three keyword tags beneath it, and a cream caption card carrying the voice-over, with the words that matter marked in amber. The scenes change every episode; the structure doesn’t, so each one reads as part of the same series.

03The workflow
From one question
to a finished episode.
Every episode runs the same six steps, and each step keeps its own working files, so any one of them can be revised and run again.
- 01Script
Each episode answers one question families ask, written first as a spoken script.
- 02Voice
ElevenLabs reads the script in a voice cloned from Amy’s own recordings.
- 03Presenter
A digital presenter made from her footage, lip-synced to the voice-over.
- 04Scenes
Seven or eight AI-generated story scenes per episode, changing with the script.
- 05Captions
Speech is transcribed into timed captions, and each line’s keywords are picked out.
- 06Edit
Remotion assembles presenter, scenes and captions in code into a vertical master and its cover.
04The episodes
Four episodes,
four hard questions.
All four are presented by the digital human, made from Amy’s own footage and voice. Each takes one question: children who don’t dare to ask, checking names and dates when buying a plot, a family that can’t agree, and the first step after a death.
